About
OakForge Play started as a group chat where a few of us kept swapping screenshots of games we found during commutes. At some point we realized we were basically running a tiny review desk for ourselves, so we turned it into a proper site.
The focus is narrow on purpose: games you can play offline. No background downloads, no login walls, no "you must be connected to continue" screens. If a game needs a constant connection, it doesn't belong here.,We play each title for several hours before writing a word. Someone installs it, someone else plays the same thing on a different phone, and then we argue about the rating. That friction is the whole point — it keeps the scores honest.,Nobody on the team gets paid by developers to be nice. We buy or download the games ourselves, and if something is boring we say so. The catalog grows slowly because we'd rather publish ten reviews we stand behind than a hundred we rushed.
